Cottage Description

This charming and spacious detached cottage sits just four miles from Rhayader in Powys in the heart of Mid Wales. Surrounded by stunning rural countryside, this property can accommodate up to eight people.

Byrdir Cottage has two double bedrooms, two single bedrooms, one twin bedroom and a well-presented family bathroom. There is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a wood burning stove. This property also features a games room with a pool table, table tennis, darts and an additional wood burning stove.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property has storage heaters in the sitting room, on the landing and in the games room. There are also electric panel heaters in the bedrooms, a gas fire in the kitchen/dining area and wood burning stoves in the sitting room and games room. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Byrdir Cottage also contains two colour TVs with DVD player and video, CD/radio, books, games, DVDs and videos. All of the fuel, power and starter packs of wood for the wood burning stoves are inclusive. Guests are provided with bed linen and towels are available to hire.

Outside, the cottage is approached via a single track lane and there is off road parking for four cars. Secure bicycle storage is available in the games room and there are enclosed gardens with lawns, a fenced pond and outdoor furniture. Guests are welcome to bring two well behaved dogs. No smoking is allowed. The nearest shops are just over one-mile away and there is a pub four miles away. During Royal Welsh Show week, different charges apply.

Local Town Description

The small Welsh town of Rhayader is home to a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and shops. There is also a leisure centre and regular livestock markets. The annual Royal Welsh Show is one of the main attractions in nearby Builth Wells and the stunning Elan Valley is nearby, offering a variety of walks, cycle trails, a visitor centre and children's play area.
