Cottage Description

An elevated position with views of Strathpepper, the Heights of Achterneed is the setting for this custom built timber chalet style property offering well proportioned accommodation coupled with an excellent specification.

Set in the owner's grounds the accommodation is offered as being all on the ground floor, and having two bedrooms being a double and a twin. The bathroom has a WC, basin, bath with shower over. There is an open plan day time layout with the sitting area offering verandah access, while there are also dining and kitchen areas.

Oil fired heating for all year round occupation, verandah with that has furniture, shared gravel space.

Local Town Description

In 1819, pure spring water that had been discovered at Strathpeffer was deemed to be the healthiest in Britain and the immediate future of the town was secured. Restoration work means that the theatre is used for live performances, dramas and concerts.

The interesting Highland Museum of Childhood is housed in the former Victorian railway station, which also has crafts shops. There is still an opportunity to "take the waters" in the old pump house, where there is also tourist information.

Great local outdoor activities as you would expect from this area. Explore, amongst other things, the lovely North West Highlands, the mountains of Glen Affric, and the Black Isle.

It's position was very central for touring. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly and left wine and chocolates for arrival which was a nice touch.
