Cottage Description
There are the most beautiful views over Loch Tarvie from this impressive detached two bedroomed bungalow set on the owner's rural estate, just twenty miles from Inverness. There is a feature decked patio, and marvellous views of the loch can be obtained from the spacious lounge. Strathpeffer just four miles away has an appealing glen location with an excellent climate as a result of its sheltered position. It has seen much confrontation in turbulent years gone by, but is now recognised as a fine tourist centre, with excellent golf, and a popular Highland Gathering every August. The Rowans is an ideal place to use as a base to explore the beautiful Highlands, and anglers will want to investigate the trout filled loch (permit fishing only). Amenities/Accommodation Overview The single storey accommodation offers a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The shower room has a shower, basin and WC. Spacious sitting room with views, TV with basic satellite package, DVD, radio/cassette/DVD player and small collection of games/books. The dining area gives access to the decked space, and the well proportioned kitchen offers washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, and electric cooker. Full oil fired central heating. Bed linen, towels, power and fuel. Two car off road parking, barbecue, and outdoor furniture, large lawned garden with decked area. Regret no smoking and no pets, two miles to both pub and shop. Please note that care should be taken as the loch is unfenced. Please also note that the property has a private water supply. Local Town Description Strathpeffer has a history as a spa village, being acknowledged in 1819 as having the healthiest water in Britain. The spa Pavilion is now restored an hosts events throughout the year. The former Victorian railway station houses craft shops and a childhood museum, and you can still take the waters at the pump house. Close by is the popular Ben Wyvis Munro, representative of an area that is well regarded by walkers, hikers and climbers. Knock Farril, a Pictish hill fort offers super views, and you will want to see the Touchstone Maze, which consists of eighty one stones of various Scottish types set in concentric circles. Lovely Inverness is just 20 miles away, and is a tremendous day out with its castle and cathedral.
