Cottage Description

Sitting on a one-hundred acre working cattle farm on the outskirts of the village of Leighton in Shropshire, is this delightful brick built barn conversion. Located close to the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge and enjoying wonderful countryside views, this property can accommodate up to four people.

The Corn House has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a well-presented family bathroom. There is also an open plan living area with a sitting room that has an electric log effect stove, a well-equipped fitted kitchen and a dining area.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property benefits from having wall mounted electric heaters with additional heating being provided from the wood burning stove in the sitting room. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The Corn House also boasts a colour TV with Freeview, DVD player and CD player. All of the fuel, power and a starter pack of wood for the wood burning stove are included in the rent, with extra logs available to purchase from the owner. Guests are provided with bed linen and towels. A travel cot can be made available on request.

Outside there is off road parking for two vehicles and a front sitting area with outdoor furniture and countryside views. No pets are allowed. This property has a no smoking policy. There are shops and a pub all within three miles of the property and via a twenty-minute walk along a footpath.

Local Town Description

The small village of Leighton, which is mentioned in the Domesday Book, lies at the heart of Shropshire. It is just four miles from the magnificent World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, which is the home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777 and 1779. The Ironbridge Gorge located in a beautiful wooded valley and there is a collection of industrial and Victorian themed museums, including the popular Blist Hill Victorian Village. The ancient market towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Ludlow are nearby and there are a number of National Trust properties locally, which include Attingham Hall and Park.
