Cottage Description

This one of two cottages is ideally located to explore the entire region of Somerset. It is perfectly based for visiting the reputed Bridgwater Carnival in November. Based in a peaceful countryside setting yet just 2.5 miles from the town of Bridgwater, these recently converted Grade II listed semi detached cottages are situated in one of the most glorious parts of Somerset. Close to the Quantock Hills which boast amazing walking from brisk strolls to more challenging walks and the Coleridge Way path. More attractions are close by and these include Clarks Shopping Village, Wookey Hole, Cricket St Thomas, Cheddar Gorge and the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are also numerous National Trust properties plus the Roman Baths. Exmoor isn't more than a short drive to get to and there is always the option of unwinding in your private patio area where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a barbeque while the children can discover the adjoining paddock.

Both cottages are recently redecorated to a superb standard and form the wing of a 17th century medieval Somerset longhouse that has a working farm next door. The two cottages can be booked individually or together, if a larger party of your friends or family wish to holiday with you.

There is a garage and off road parking available for two cars. Bed linen, oil-fired central heating and electric are included. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed and no smoking is permitted within the property.

The property is perfectly situated for visiting Bridgwater Carnival in November (short breaks are welcomed with three or four nights at 80% of the weekly cost). The beaches are just 15 minutes drive away. The local pub and shops in North Petherton are 2 miles away. The supermarkets in Bridgwater are just a little further at 2.5 miles. There is an array of country pubs near by in the various neighbouring villages and on the Quantock Hills.

This very well presented cottage offers light and spacious accommodation which is set on three storeys and has a magnificent slate floor on the ground floor. Original beams remain throughout alongside recently fitted modern fittings and fixtures.

Hornbeam Cottage provides four bedrooms on the second floor - one king size with en suite bathroom, electric shower over the bath and a toilet along with a separate small sitting area that has a flatscreen TV and DVD player. This is perfect for relaxing with a book or a glass of wine. On the first floor there is one double, one large twin and one small twin, which is suitable for one adult or two children. There is also a family bathroom with a toilet and a separate walk-in shower cubicle. On the ground floor there is the open plan diner/ lounge/ kitchen. This comes with a flatscreen TV. The fully furbished kitchen has an integral electric hob and oven, fridge/ freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, microwave and other useful extras.

The cottage benefits from highchair is available, towels are provided and travel cot is available.
