Cae Caled Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage

Cottage Description

Cae Caled Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage

Adjoining the fifteenth century farmhouse belonging to the owner, Cae Caled Cottage is a luxury cottage of appealing brick construction with slate roof. The property was noted as being one of the UK's top twenty romantic cottages in 2009 for the Times Online.

Bodfari is just five miles from Denbigh and ten miles from Ruthin, therefore being well served for amenities. It is set in a gap in the Clwydian Hills, and is often used as the final resting place on the trek along Offa's Dyke.

The property boasts shared use of a heated outdoor pool (1st July to the end of September - closed from 6.30 pm for hoovering and chemical clean). There is also trout fishing on the River Clwyd with the owner's grounds (end of March to the end of September - fishing licence required). Booked in conjunction with another property will offer sleeping for up to six people.

Local Town Description

There is much history at Bodfari with evidence of Celtic settlement going back to 500BC, also Roman encampment whilst suggestions are that the church of St. Stephen predates the Norman Conquest. Today it is more important to know that it has a local shop and falls within easy reach of other amenities such as restaurants and pubs.

Offa's Dyke is one of the most famous pathways in the country and provides walking for all ages. Denbigh provides more history with its thirteenth century castle and further amenities, whilst more extensive touring will take you to Snowdonia and the North Wales coastal resorts such as Prestatyn, Colwyn Bay and Rhyl.
