Little Pentre Barn Countryside Cottage

Enjoy shared, seasonal use of the outdoor heated swimming pool belonging to the owner,when you stay at this super detached brick built cottage. It is full of traditional features, particularly exposed beams and trusses, a wood burner, and a galleried bedroom with a mezzanine level.

Overton on Dee is set in beautiful countryside close to the English border, and is a great place to explore Cheshire, North Wales and as far south as Shropshire. There are attractive eighteenth century buildings and a traditional pub, local shops and a restaurant.

Little Pentre is set in the owner's smallholding that runs to three acres and with its traditional features, and valley views from the private lawned gardens is a great place to stay, settle in and undertake some great holidaying. Great local walking and cycling for the active, great relaxing for the less active.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

There are two bedrooms, one a galleried twin with limited headroom - mezzanine level, and a ground floor double, partitioned from the living room. Shower room with basin, WC and shower.

Well proportioned beamed living space with french doors to decking, dining area and wood burner, TV with freeview, DVD player, stereo/CD player etc. Small kitchen space with dishwasher, fridge, microwave and electric cooker. Oil filled electric heaters throughout.

Starter pack for wood burner, bed linen and towels included in rent (please bring own swimming towels). Electricity by way of coin meter. Shared use of the owner's outdoor heated swimming pool (available August only), stairgate, cot and high chair availability on request.

Two car off road parking, Shed storage for bikes, Barbecue and outdoor furniture for use in private lawned area and raised decking. Regrettably no pets and no smoking. One and a half miles to pub and shop.

Please note with access via steep stairs, the first floor bedroom is not suitable for the very young or the less mobile. Children must be supervised around the swimming pool.

Local Town Description

The centre of Overton is a conservation area, containing many historic listed buildings, as well as a range of other local facilities. The yew trees in the ancient churchyard of St.Mary with its Norman connections are known as one of the "Seven Wonders of Wales".

Walkers will love the 25 mile long Maelor Walk, as well as up to forty miles of other quality routes. The Nine Meres of Ellesmere, formed during the glacial period, now offer scenic walks, sailing, fishing, bird watching and boat trips.

Llangollen, Snowdonia, the North Wales Coast, and Shrewsbury should be on any self respecting touring itinerary.
