He tastefully extended 17th-century village inn has ten en suite bedrooms and is situated in an area of exceptional natural beauty on the North Wessex Downs. The Swan is owned by local organic beef farmers Mary and Bernard Harris. The menus for the hotel restaurant and bar food feature organic produce. Vincenzo has brought an italian flavour to the menu with quite a few classic dishes as well as beef from the farm. Our renowned range of sausages are on sale in the farm shop attached to the Swan Inn. Located in the heart of England near Newbury and Hungerford the Inn is perfect as a base to visit many places of excellent interest as well as Stonehenge Donnington Castle and the Kennet and Avon Canal. The historic Wayfarers Way starts close by. Walbury Iron Age Hill Fort next to Combe Gibbet is the highest point in Southern England at 984ft and is with in a mile of the Swan Inn. The Inkpen recreational walk takes you past all those landmarks. It is also the perfect place to stay if you are going to Newbury race course or visiting Lambourn stables. Perfect for walking and cycling holidays.
