Built as a Gentlemans Residence in 1850 on the site of the historic 13th century Cistercian Monastery the hotel is located with in stunning grounds with the foothills of the Snowdonia range providing a dramatic backdrop.

As soon as you walk into our entrance hall with its magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire you will immediately feel at home. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions Maenan Abbey provides all contemporary hotel facilities. All fourteen bedrooms are en-suite and offer a flexible mixture of single doubles twins a 4 poster bridal suite and three family rooms. Here at the Abbey we pride ourselves on our cooking which provides a unique combination of traditional Welsh fair alongside more modern international dishes.

We use just the finest products that are locally produced wherever possible and cooked to the highest standard. Our welcoming bar is open to the public and attracts many locals and regulars as well as those guests staying with us whilst our elegant residents lounge is the ideal spot to take pleasure in a peaceful coffee after dinner.
