The Queens Head is located on the fringe of the stunning Lake District National Park and is with in walking distance to Ullswater. We are a traditonal village Inn with some stone floors and many ceiling beams a amazing atmostphere and a warm and welcoming welcome. The Queens as it is affectionately known by the locals boasts 4 open fires 2 of which are in the bar area making the bar a amazing place to unwind and stay warm even of the coldest of nights. Homemade fresh and seasonal food is served all day everyday from twelve noon until 9pm. Our menu changes frequently as does our specials board. Most of our menu is Gluten Free without compromise on quality or flavour. We have a homemade Curry night on a Tuesday night and a extremely popular Fresh Fish night on a Friday night. Our Sunday Roasts are extremely popular and are served with homemade Yorkshire Pudding roast potatoes market vegetables and a rich stock gravy. We are perfectly situated for exploring our spectacular countryside. There are many walks either starting from the pub or from close by and is marvellous dog walking country. We allow dogs in some of the rooms - as long as they provide their own bed!.

From the M6 Junction 40 take the exit signed towards Appleby Brough on the A66. At the next roundabout take the last exit signed A6 towards Shap and Kendal.Go over the bridge with the traffic lights and at the mini roundabout take the last exit signed towards Poolley Bridge and Ullswater. Continue along that road until the first turning on the left signed towards Askham. Follow along that road until you enter the village and see our car park on the left. |
