Glengarth is also only s few minutes stroll alongthe stunning river Esk to The Buccleuch centre where many talentedand renowned performers and thespians are regularly billed. Whilst our style is relaxed and informal we pride ourselves ondelivering a high quality service to all of our guests. Both our en suiteletting rooms are located on the ground floor and thus we are able toaccommodate those who find stairs difficult. Langholm is ideallylocated for exploring the borders on foot by car or public transport. We especially welcome walkers and cyclists. We operate a extremely strict no smoking policy at Glengarth. Langholm known to the locals as the Muckle Toon meaning the bigtown; was in days past the largest town in the borders. It is steepedin Reiver history and that of the textile industry. It is from LangholmCastle that the renowned Johnnie Armstrong mounted his daring raid onCarlisle Castle to rescue an equally daring and infamous Kilmont Willie. Whilst their Reiving days are over the town retains many of those Reiver names such as Armstrong Bell Irving Graham Maxwell and Hotson to name but a few these days they welcome guests to this extremely special town.

Getting to us is easy. From the South leave the M6 at junction 44 and take the A7 (signposted Hawick and Galashiels) Langholm is situated approximately twenty miles north. As you approach Langholm come over the bridge with traffic lights south of the town; turn left onto Glenesk Road just after the 30 mile speed limit signs. At the end of Glenesk Road turn left and then immediately right. This brings you onto Maxwell Road. Glengarth is the first Bungalow on the left. |
