About Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire is an area that is hugely covered by the Chiltern Hills which is classed as an outstanding area of natural beauty. The River Thames runs through the county and in turn offers an array of amazing walks and views along the trail of the river.

The county is scattered with beech woodland and rolling hills making it a very picturesque region. The Grand Union Canal is another amazing source of enjoyment as it branches into Berkshire and Hertfordshire.

Transport is very convenient in Buckinghamshire with the M1, M4 and M25 all running through the county and offering road links to major parts of Britain including London, Birmingham and Wales.

Buckinghamshire can also boast a large number of historic homes and properties. The code breaking establishment from World War II, Bletchley Park also known as Station X, is based in the county where the Enigma and Lorenz codes were broken.

Several National Trust properties including Cliveden, Waddesdon Manor and West Wycombe Park lie within the county boundaries which are well worth a visit.
