1. Imperial War Museum Duxford - Duxford, Cambridgeshire, CB22 4QR, Tel No: 01223 835000

A superb aviation museum with award winning exhibits and over 200 historic aircraft on display all set on one of the earliest RAF stations which was established during the First World War. Regularly historic aircraft take to the sky and air shows throughout the summer are a thrilling day out. There is an American Air Museum, a collection of land vehicles and many interactive displays throughout the site.

A fun day out for all the family whatever the season including lots of farm animals, tractor rides, a Shire horse Centre, Mill House and Watermill, Straw Bale Maze and picnic area.

3. Milton Country Park - Milton, Cambridge, Cambs, CB24 6AZ, Tel No: 01223 420060

Milton Country Park is a wonderful 95 acres of woodland and lakes home to an abundance of wildlife. With lots for all the family including cycle paths, bridle paths and trails for walkers plus children's play areas and picnic sites.

4. Linton Zoo - Linton, Cambridge, Cambs, CB21 4NT, Tel No: 01223 891308

Linton Zoo is set in 18 acres of wonderful gardens and is home to a large variety of animals including lions, tigers, zebras, lemurs, parrots and tarantulas. The whole family will love the keeper's talks and animal encounters and the children can burn off some energy in the play areas.

5. Elgood's Brewery and Garden - North Brink Brewery, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE13 1LN, Tel No: 01945 583160

A traditional 200 year old Georgian brewery that has been in the Elgood family for five generations. Explore the beer brewing process with a guided tour and visit the superb four acre garden and maze behind the brewery.
