2. Tintagel Castle - Tintagel, Cornwall, PL34 0HE - Tel No: 08703 331181

Tintagel Castle is in a spectacular location on the North Cornwall coast set on a headland connected to the mainland by a thin piece of land. Legend has it that this 13th century castle was the birthplace of King Arthur and there are many other myths surrounding Tintagel all worth exploring.

3. Launceston Castle - Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 7DR - Tel No: 08703 331181

Launceston Castle sits high on a natural mound guarding the entrance to Cornwall. The castle dates back over 1000 years to just after the Norman Conquest and it was rebuilt in stone in the 13th century by Richard, Earl of Cornwall. Today you can see an exhibition by English Heritage who manages the site which traces the history and other findings from site excavations.

4. Cornish Mining World Heritage Site -

The Cornish Mining World Heritage Site comprises of ten areas of former mining districts across Cornwall and West Devon with significant historical importance as recognized by the World Heritage status. These areas include the landscapes, towns and villages and specific mining sites with many high quality visitor attractions for all the family.
