1. Royal Air Force Holmpton Bunker - Holmpton, Withernsea, East Yorkshire, HU19 2QR - Tel No: 01964 630208

The Royal Air Force Holmpton Bunker is an exciting and educational attraction to visit during a stay in East Yorkshire. Tours are scheduled throughout the year where a guide will take guests through the bunker and explain how the Air Force uses the facility to protect the country. Some of the rooms that will be shown include the Raf Support Command Centre, where guests will learn why bunkers are necessary to a countries defense. Other rooms include the Sinister Weapons of Mass Destruction WMD gallery, the plant room, Area 7, the messaging room, the coding and encryption centre, and much more.

2. The Yorkshire Water Ways Museum - Rawcliffe Bridge, Goole, East Yorkshire, DN14 8PP - Tel No: 01405 768730

The Yorkshire Waterways Museum is a beautiful site containing hundreds of exciting exibits available for viewing. The museums main function is to show guests how barge families lived back in the early 1900's, and even further back into history. There are several photographs, paintings, and items used for exhibits that will educate guests on the history of boating, importing and exporting of goods, and travel. There are also boats on exhibit that guests may explore. There is also a library inside of the museum with many books detailing information about waterways and shipping.

3. Spurn Nature Reserve - Spurn Head, Withernsea, East Yorkshire, HU12 0UG - Tel No: 01482 391721

Surrounded by the beautiful River Humber, Spurn Nature Reserve is a curved piece of land that was formed 10,000 years ago after the ice cap dissipated in this part of East Yorkshire. There are hundreds of species of botanical lifeforms that gather around the area. Several species of birds also gather around this three-mile stretch of land, adding to the beauty of the reserve.

4. The Deep - Tower Street, Hull, East Yorkshire, HU1 4DP - Tel No: 01482 381000

Built by the famous architect Sir Terry Farrell, The Deep is an underwater aquarium with a completely unique design. The aquarium contains over three thousand sea creatures, which live in 2.5 million litres of water. There are hundreds of displays set around the aquarium explaining the details of these creatures lives under the water. Not only does the aquarium welcome guests year around to learn about life under the ocean, it is also an office for marine researchers to find out even more about how these mysterious creatures live.


5. Withernsea Lighthouse - Hull Road, Withernsea, East Yorkshire, HU19 2DY - Tel No: 01964 614834

One of the only inland lighthouses ever built, Withernsea Lighthouse has been transformed into a museum. Built back in 1892 due to the enormous amount of shipwrecks on the coast of Withernsea, the lighthouse has been preserved over the years and has become a major attraction in East Yorkshire. Visitors will be able to view hundreds of photographs and exhibits about the lighthouse, and will actually be able to climb to the very top of the structure to get a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

6. Cruckley Animal Farm - Foston-on-the-Wolds, Driffield, East Yorkshire, YO25 8BS - Tel No: 01262 488337

Containing hundreds of rare breeds of farm animals, Cruckley Animal Farm is a great place for children and adults alike. The attraction allows visitors to view, pet, and even feed some of the animals around the farm, and demonstrates how workers raise different types of farm animals. Lambs, pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, and cows are just a few of the animals available at the Cruckley Animal Farm. The animals aren't all there are to see, however, there is also many of the vintage farming equipment available to viewing.

7. Humber Bridge Country Park - Ferriby Road, Hessle, East Yorkshire, HU13 0HB - Tel No: 01482 395207

Surrounded by miles of gorgeous landscape, the Humber Bridge country Park contains hundreds of wildlife species. Inside of the park are a variety of woods, ponds, cliffs, and meadows which support the habitats of the species available in this park of East Yorkshire. There are several trails available for visitors to view the wildlife, including the Cliff Trail, the Phoenix Sculpture Trail, the Meadow Trail, and the Pond Trail.

8. Bondville Miniature Village - Sewerby, Bridlington, East Yorkshire, YO15 1ER - Tel No: 01262 401736

Bondville Miniature Village is an attraction site centred around children of all ages. The village is set on a one-acre piece of land, and contains over 150 handmade model buildings placed around the landscape. Children and adults alike will enjoy seeing a hand-crafted model village, complete with houses, stores, cars, fences, and roads. This is a unique, awe-inspiring site due to the hard labour put into crafting these models.
