Designated as a World Heritage site, the Ironbridge Gorge district is home to a number of historic constructions and museums that preserve remnants of England's industrial past. The park offers a wide array of attractions, including Teddy's train, Tea Cups, Crazy Golf and the Wonderland Maze. Park Hall is a family-oriented farm attraction near Oswestry that offers a variety of activities for guests. Visitors can wander over to the paddocks where they can try their hand at cow milking or meet the many farm animals that include Highland cattle, Shetland ponies, horses, pigs, goats, rabbits, ducks, geese and sheep. Other attractions include bouncy castles, the play barn, giant games, the toy tractor circuit, a play village and the Victorian school and museum.

Located north of Telford, the Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is another family-oriented animal park. Hoo Farm is home to a large variety of animals that range from the usual farm animals to more exotic wildlife. Visitors are able to get up close to and interact with animals such as goats, cows, chickens, horses, water buffalo, deer, giant tortoises, armadillos and many others. Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom also has indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as a farm trail and the fairy forest for visitors to explore.

Just a few miles south of Shrewsbury, the Lyth Hill Country Park offers some of the finest views of the Shropshire countryside to be found. From the park view point, visitors can enjoy the panorama of endless fields and the Shropshire hills. Visitors can take a 45 minute walk in these peaceful, rustic surroundings, taking in sights such as the Wrekin hills, Caer Caradoc, the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones.

The RAF Museum in Cosford, just 30 minutes driving from Birmingham and ten minutes from Telford, makes for a lovely day out for those interested in Britain's aviation history. The museum is home to many fascinating exhibits, including the Cold War exhibit, the Test Flight exhibit, the War Planes exhibit, the Hangar 1 exhibit and the Royal Airforce exhibit. The museum also has a flight simulator that visitors can try, as well as a shop, restaurant and picnic areas.

Located near Church Stretton in Carding Mill Valley, the Chalet Pavilion is a tourist centre that offers information, walking programmes, a Long Mynd exhibition, a tea room, toilets and a shop to visitors. With its magnificent views of the heather-covered hills, wildlife and walking routes, the Carding Mill Valley area is ideal for nature lovers and hikers, although shuttle buses are also available from April to October for those who prefer not to explore the countryside on foot.

The Mere is a lovely lake near the town of Ellesmere. It is surrounded by historic parkland and is home to various species of bird and wildlife. It is one of several lakes (or 'meres') in the area, and visitors can explore the lake either by row boat or steamboat. Visitors to the Mere will find the Boathouse visitor centre and gift shop, Victorian gardens, the Mereside Promenade, walking trails, toilets, a play area and a restaurant.
