1. Cleeve Abbey - Washford, TA23 0PS

Cleeve Abbey is one of the best preserved Cistercian Abbeys in the country its Cloister buildings a fantastic site. A English Heritage Site.

2. Farleigh Hungerford Castle - Farleigh Hungerford, BA2 7RS

Built in the 14th century this fortified mansion was the home of the Hungerford family for 300 years. Graphical exhibitions and audio tour bring the experience to life. A English Heritage Site.

3. Muchelney Abbey - Muchelney, TA10 0DQ

Muchelney Abbey is a sacred site close to Langport set within a beautiful hamlet. The Saxon abbey was founded approximately 693, there isn't much left of the abbey in present day apart from the foundations and remains. The site is owned and managed by the English Heritage.

4. Dunster Castle - Nr. Minehead, TA24 6SL

A wonderfully romantic castle with beautiful interiors, lovely gardens and fantastic views. Owned by the National Trust.

5. Glastonbury Tor - Nr. Glastonbury

The site is managed by the national trust. A site of myths and legends that is said to be the home to the King of the Fairies.

6. Montacute House - Montacute, TA15 6XP

A magnificent manor house built in the 16th century with a National Portrait Gallery Exhibition and Garden. Owned by the National Trust.

7. King John's Hunting Lodge - Axminster, BS26 2AP

A fully restored Tudor House with a living history museum. The house is a National Trust managed site.

8. The Roman Baths and Pump Room - Bath, BA1 1LZ

The pump rooms at Bath offer visitors the chance to explore one of the best-preserved Roman baths in Europe. The Spas are still flowing hot water today. This site is a must see.

9. Glastonbury Abbey - Glastonbury, BA6 9EL

A magnificent ruined abbey set in parkland with 2000 years of history and reputedly the burial place of King Arthur.

10. Forde Abbey - Chard TA20 4LU

A beautiful medieval abbey formerly a Cistercian Monastery set in 30 acres of wonderful gardens.

Set in Somersets only city is the magnificent Wells Cathedral the beautiful architecture of the west front has over 300 statues and carvings.

12. South Cadbury Hill Fort - Yeovil, BA20 1UN

A vast Iron Age hill fort where Cadbury Castle was reputedly King Arthurs Camelot.
