1. Winkworth Arboretum - Hascombe Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4AD - Tel No: 01483 208477

Located in Godalming, the Winkworth Arboretum is the crown jewel of the National Trust's arboretums. Among the more than 1,000 trees and shrubs are rare and exotic examples. In addition to impressive springtime displays of magnolias, bluebells and azaleas, the deep shades of gold and russet from whitebeam, maple and mountain ash make Winkworth famous for its autumn color.

Get ready for thrills and spills at Thorpe Park in Chertsey. Built in 1979, this theme park for the brave at heart has evolved to become one of the country's favorite destinations for fast roller coasters and drenching flume rides. In 2009, it was the 12th most visited theme park in Europe. Thorpe Park is easy to navigate and features Fastrack queue lines for rides that allow quicker boarding on rides.

East Surrey's British Wildlife Centre has developed into a must-stop for wildlife enthusiasts. Enhanced since its opening in 1997, the Centre gives visitors more to see and more to learn about Britain's fascinating wildlife. Animal enclosures allow visitors to see animals in their natural habitat, part of the Centre's goal to educate about wildlife behavior and the importance of conservation.

Located in Dorking, Denbies English Vineyard is an all-weather destination and features "Indoor Wine Experience" tours that operate all year; the Outdoor Vineyard Train runs daily from March to November. Here, visitors will experience English winemaking at its best - Denbies is one of the first wine estates in the world to give visitors of all ages insight into all aspects of the wine-producing process. Denbies is England's largest single-estate vineyard with 265 acres of vines. 

5. The Sculpture Park - Churt, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 2LE - Tel No: 01428 605453

The Pride Of The Valley Sculpture Park in Farnham offers artwork from more than 100 renowned sculptors. Visitors can walk at their own pace along the 1.5 miles of 'all weather pathways' and view more than 200 sculptures that are for sale. Sculpture Park is set amongst 10 acres of rolling hills and valleys with water gardens. 

6. Birdworld - Holt Pound, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 4LD - Tel No: 01420 22140

Whether it's sunbirds, penguins, owls, parrots or waterfowl, you are sure to enjoy Birdworld, a 26-acre park within the Alice Holt Forest. featuring several colorful species. In addition to the amazing birds from all around the world, Birdworld is home to the Jenny Wren Farm and Underwater World. Entertainment comes in the form of swooping, soaring and hopping in the Outdoor Flying Display and the Heron Theatre Show.

7. Chessington World Of Adventures - Leatherhead Road, Surrey, KT9 2NE - Tel No: 0871 663 4477

Dubbed 'Britain's Wildest Adventure', Chessington World Of Adventures is a thrill-seeking destination with exciting rides and rollercoasters, amazing animals and a Sea Life center. Recent additions of Wild Asia and Wanyama Village & Reserve tops of a day filled with adventure. The adventure can be extended with a Roar & Snore package at the safari-themed Holiday Inn Chessington. 

8. Bocketts Farm Park - Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 9BS - Tel No: 01372 363764

Bocketts Farm in Fetcham is worth the trip if when in the southeast. Bocketts has mushroomed over the years and comprises two adventure playgrounds, a giant tea barn with excellent food, sand play areas, tractor rides, and a huge indoor play area. The farm animals are mostly housed in a large barn and easily accessible for little ones. The park is lovely on a warm day, and indoor facilities guarantee a fine time when chilly or rainy.
