About Worcestershire

Worcestershire

Worcestershire is a county in the west Midlands of England. The administrative headquarters of the county can be found at Worcester. It is home to Royal Worcester Porcelain which is a great place to learn about the craft through years gone by.

Worcester Cathedral is one of Britain's finest old buildings and has been a place of worship for over fourteen centuries. The county also enjoys the Malvern Hills which is an area of outstanding natural beauty that comprises of ancient rocks, natural springs and offers superb cycle ride routes, excellent walking conditions and dramatic views over the counties of Worcestershire itself and Herefordshire.

Worcester is the only real large settlement within the county whilst other smaller urban collections can be found at Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Redditch. The West Midlands Safari Park is a cracking day out for all the family whilst the metropolitan area of Birmingham is within easy reach playing host to music events, shopping facilities, theatres, pubs, clubs and many other forms of entertainment that cater for all the family.

Even though Worcestershire itself is fairly sparse in attractions, the surrounding areas have a lot to offer which makes it a great base to explore a wider area of Britain.
