Dundee Science Centre hosts over 60,000 visitors each year. Teachers, students, adults and children find much that is fun, inspirational and educational, proving that science is not boring. Demonstrations, workshops and shows provide information and hands-on learning, allowing the visitor to use all five senses to experience the wonder that is science. Science-On-the-Spot uses household ingredients in their dramatic demonstrations. Other attractions include astonishing simulations of Keyhole surgery, amazing Roborealm futuristic robots and a Mindball Arena challenge that invites two competitors to move a ball using only their brain waves.

Located on the North East Scotland coast, Montrose Basin Visitor Centre is a tidal basin consisting of mud, saltmarsh, brackish water, reedbed, freshwater and seawater. The Centre is also a Local Nature Reserve that offers public activities of birdwatching, fishing, sailing and digging for bait. Open year-round, the Centre also has an interesting shop that sells unique gifts, nature equipment and books, snacks and drinks.
3. Mill Of Benholm - Montrose, Angus, DD10 0HT - Tel No: 01561 362466
The Mill of Benholm, located in Kincardineshire, Scotland, is a working, water-powered, meal mill which has been in existence for over 800 years. It is the only surviving mill of its kind. Restoration began in 1986 on the mill with portions that dated back to the 18th century. An important function of the Mill of Benholm, today, is as a training facility for special needs adults, preparing them for jobs in horticulture, catering, furniture restoration, shop and office work. This watermill museum's natural setting is rural and surrounded by a pleasant riverside walk and lovely gardens.

Camperdown Country Park includes Templeton Woods which is a wildlife haven. Many watersports are enjoyed by visitors to Clatto Reservoir. A variety of activities including an adventure playground, ice skating rink and several golf courses, assure a fun-filled excursion for family and friends.
The four mile Caledonian Railway line runs from the City of Brechin to Bridge of Dun Station. This preserved Victorian railway terminus, complete with steam, smoke and whistles, takes you back to the more genteel culture of the Victorian era. Vistas along the route range from bustling hamlets to the peaceful countryside. Special events are held throughout the year. Easter Special, May Diesel Gala, Day Out with Thomas, Steam, Stovies & Music and Santa Specials are just a few of the celebrations offered.

Brechin Castle Centre is a large retail shopping complex, complete with a Garden Centre and a Country Park offering such diverse attractions as animals, outdoor activities, concerts, a nature trail, a sixty-five acre working farm and an adventure castle for the children, complete with an engine powered barrel train. Alpacas, New Zealand Kune Kune Pigs, Jacob sheep, and Craig the horse, plus an assortment of birds, chickens, pygmy goats, bunnies and a white goat delight young and old alike. Events, scheduled year-round, include the Halloween Hoolie, Puppet Shows, Fancy Dress Competition and the spectacular November Fireworks Display.

The Picts were fierce and strong ancient warriors, who fought the Vikings, Irish Scots, the Romans and the Northumbrians. After conquering Northern Britain and dominating that country for over 500 years they vanished from history for unknown reasons. An important part of Scotland's past, their history dates back as far as AD 297. Their greatest legacy may be in the superior, complex stone carvings of various battles, animals and religious depictions. Many of these carvings are still in existence today and can be seen at the Pictavia Visitor Centre, along with interesting interactive,educational exhibits and other artifacts of the era.

Sir James Matthew Barrie (1860 -1937), famous Scottish author and dramatist, is best known for Peter Pan, the internationally famous children's novel, written in 1904. His birthplace, which includes the original two stories home and J. M. Barrie's first theatrical workshop, features the Peter Pan garden, a Pirates Workshop, original Peter Pan costumes and manuscripts, and an actual flying adventure for the children.
The architecturally stunning Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and the birthplace of her second daughter, Princess Margaret. An unforgettable tour showcases the castle's elegant furnishings, stunning artwork and tapestries, and the grand Royal Apartments. The magnificent grounds include the striking Italian Garden, beautiful Nature Trail, and the impressive Walled Garden. Special events are held throughout the year. In 1901, Captain Robert Falcon Scott RN successfully led a two year expedition exploring the frigid Antarctica. Traveling in uncharted territory, extreme polar temperatures, dangerous ice packs and wild, stormy seas, made the trip extremely grueling and dangerous. A tour of Captain Scott's famous ship, the RSS Discovery, includes the main deck, the navigational tools and the below deck area. This fascinating experience gives visitors an understanding of the trying conditions under which the crew lived and worked. Exhibits, audio visuals and guided tours bring to life the fascinating story of this brave captain and his crew.
