Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is the 4th largest National park in the British Isles. Perfect for outdoor activities, this area has many hiking and walking trails. Safari tours are available for those wishing to experience the wildlife of the area. The park is also home to the Golden Eagle preserve.

2. Titan Crane - Clydebank, Dunbartonshire , G81 1BF - Tel No: 01419 523771

The Titan Crane is perhaps the most unusual tourist attraction in Scotland, but one of the most riveting. This century old crane has been fully restored to its original splendor. Visitors can ride a lift to the top and see the beautiful surrounding area. Since this crane was used in shipbuilding, visitors can also view footage from some of its most prestigious accomplishments: building the QE2 and the Queen Mary.

3. Ardgartan Visitor Centre - Argyll Forest Park, Arrochar, Dunbartonshire , G83 7AR - Tel No: 01301 702432

The Ardgarten Visitor Centre is located at the northern entrance of the Argyll Forest. Here you can plan your walking or hiking trips into the vast mountains and loch areas of Argyll. The visitor centre is also an information centre for attractions around the area.

4. Levengrove Park - Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire , G82 4AZ - Tel No: 08707 200612

Located on the banks of the River Clyde, Levengrove Park is a beautiful area filled with formal gardens, magnificent trees, a putting and bowling green and a play area for the children. Located in the park are the ruins of the Old Parish Church and is the burial place of the Dixon family.

5. Dumbarton Castle - Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire , G82 1JJ - Tel No: 01389 732167

This castle is opened daily to visitors and has the longest history of any stronghold in Great Brittan. While many of the Iron Age structures are no longer visible, the castle has been home to many significant historical figures, including Merlin. Much of the castle today was built in the 1800's, but visitors will enjoy the area and its rich history.


6. Knowetop Community Farm - 113 Castlehill Road, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire , G82 5AT  - Tel No: 01389 732734

Located in Dumbarton, close to the castle, this community farm is a favorite attraction to many families. The farm is filled with local animals that can be interacted with. Knowetop has many different events during the year and even hosts birthday parties.

7. Glenarn Gardens - Glenarn Road, Rhu, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire , G84 8LL - Tel No: 01436 820493

Glenarn Gardens is a private garden started in the 1920's by the Gibson family and remains a large attraction in the Argyl area. Perhaps most famous for its rhododendrons, the garden is filled with other beautiful flowers, such as magnolias. The garden has beautiful trails and at any given time is in bloom with a special type of flower.

8. Geilston Garden - Cardross, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire , G82 5HD - Tel No: 08444 932219

This private garden is located on 10 acres of tranquil land and is one of the most impressive gardens in Scotland. The most impressive piece in the garden is the magnificently large Wellingtonia tree. The area is filled with many rare and beautiful flowers. The main house offers wonderful meals filled with fresh produce from the garden.

9. The Hill House - Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire , G84 9AJ - Tel No: 08444 932208

The Hill House was built in 1902 and has since become the property of the Scottish National Trust. This exquisite home was designed by the famous architect, Charles Rennie Macintosh, designer of the Glasgow School of Art. The home offers tours daily and can easily be accessed from the Helensburg Upper Railway Station

10. Denny Tank - Castle Street, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire , G82 1QS - Tel No: 01389 763444

Located in Dumbarton, the Denny Tank is located at the Maritime Museum. Visitors will enjoy hands-on activities at the centre like molding and carving a real wax model of a ship and designing your own mini tank for a ship. The Denny Tank is the oldest ship tank, constructed in 1882 and remains the basis for all modern ship building.
