Bath

Roman Baths In The English City Of Bath

History

One of the most iconic towns in the UK, Bath is a historical spa town. It's history as a spa dates back to the Roman era. However, throughout the centuries, the naturally occurring mineral baths fell into disrepair. It was not until Queen Elizabeth I and many other distinguished individuals began to arrive in the 17th and 18th centuries did Bath's reputation as a spa town return.

During the 18th century, a major revival occurred. The town expanded with the construction of Georgian style buildings, grand avenues, and the iconic crescent shaped buildings.

Today, Bath's heritage draws millions of visitors and creates a lively atmosphere in the form of cultural events such as theatre, dance, and festivals as well as thriving restaurant and nightlife scene.
