The largest aquarium in all of Wales, the Sea Zoo is home to fascinating sharks, conger eels, octopi, and British Seahorses. Witness live feedings every day and learn more about how the zoo is increasing the area's lobster population. Children will enjoy spending time on the Adventure Playground and playing a fun round of Crazy Golf before the family dines at the zoo's Lighthouse Bistro.

Beaumaris Castle in Anglesey

2. Beaumaris Castle - Castle Street, Beaumaris, LL58 8AP - Tel No: 01248 810361

Constructed in 1295, the Beaumaris Castle is known as the largest and last castle in Wales built by King Edward I. Surround by an 18 ft. moat and accented with 16 towers and two gates, the majestic castle stands today as a testament to the lavish accommodations and military necessities of the time. Visitors should not miss a chance to walk the inner corridors of the castle and see the awe-inspiring view from the chapel tower.

3. Beaumaris Gaol - Bunker's Hill, Beaumaris, LL58 8EP

The Gaol offers visitors a glimpse into the life of a Victorian Era prisoner. Built over 175 years ago, the same cells, offices, punishment blocks, and the treadmill that prisoners once used can be seen today. Touring the grounds brings visitors past actual shackles, implements of punishment, the women's workroom, and where condemned men once hung. The adjoining original courtroom is also accessible for touring.

4. Foel Farm Park - Brynsiencyn, Anglesey, LL61 6TQ - Tel No: 01248 430646

Children and animal lovers alike will enjoy an afternoon riding ponies and feeding lambs on this fully functional farm. Trailer tours allow guests to see exotic and interesting produce growing in the fields and everyone will enjoy a taste of the farm's homemade chocolate. Farm-fresh meals are also prepared in the Y Foel Bistro and Cafe.

5. Marquess of Anglesey's Column - Column Cottage, Parc Twr, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, LL61 5NJ - Tel No: 01248 714 393

Built in honor of Henry William Paget, the first Marquess of Anglesey and a heroic commander in the Battle of Waterloo, the column stands 27 metres high and is nearly 200 years old. After climbing its 115 steps, visitors are greeted by a bronze statue of Paget along with a panoramic view of its surroundings that can be experienced year-round. Below, the column is encircled by lush, beautiful gardens.

6. Penmon Priory - Penmon, Beaumaris, LL58 8RW

Over 1,000 years of history can be experienced at the Penmon Priory. Much of what had existed at the monastery during medieval times still stands today, like two high crosses, the remnants of the cloister, and the nave, fitted with elaborately carved arches and pillars. A church erected in the 13th century on the priory still remains in use today.

Visitors to the Pili Palas Butterfly, Bird, and Minibeast Palace are sure to leave with a smile and many cherished photographs. Filled with butterfly gardens, an enormous bird house, snake handling and feedings, and exhibits featuring many lizards and even tarantulas, the Pili Palas can make anyone feel like a kid. The new nature trail also allows visitor to do some bird watching and bug collecting out in the "wild."

8. Swtan Folk Museum - Dilwyn, Porth Swtan, Isle of Anglesey - Tel No: 01407 730 186

Visiting the Swtan Folk Museum will not only take you to the last remaining thatched cottage in Anglesey, it will give each visitor the feeling as if they were living life in rural 1890s Wales. Inside the cottage are many artifacts and examples of the simplicity of life during the era, as well as timeless art from the village of Church Bay.

9. The Menai Heritage Experience - Mona Road, Menai Bridge/Porthaethwy, LL59 5EA - Tel No: 01248 715046

History and engineering come together as visitors experience the splendor of the Menai Bridge, completed in 1826, and the Britannia Bridge, completed in 1850. Besides walking tours of the bridges and waterfront, visitors are greeted with original drawings and artifacts from the bridges' design, films about their construction, and even an opportunity for children to construct bridges of their own.

10. Ucheldre Performing and Visual Arts Centre - Millbank, Holyhead, Anglesey, LL65 1TE - Tel No: 01407 763361

The Ucheldre Centre is home to both local talent and international performance artists. The 200 seat theatre houses drama, musical performances, films, opera, dance, and literary events with authors and literary societies. Guests can always find new programming at the centre and the Ucheldre Kitchen keeps guests wanting more of their homemade dishes and specialty coffees.
