About Pembrokeshire

Tenby Beach in Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is a county based on the south west coast of Wales. It is a maritime county and is surrounded by sea on three sides. It is neighboured with Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. The county is hugely taken up by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

There are a number of urban areas within Pembrokeshire including Pembroke, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Tenby and the city of St. David's. St. David's is the final resting place of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales.

Oakwood Theme Park is also based in Pembrokeshire which offers an amazing experience for all the family with adrenalin pumping rides and great entertainment. Recently, the Pembrokeshire region has been used for filming a few Hollywood blockbuster films including Robin Hood and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.

The M4 motorway provides transport up to 46 miles from Pembrokeshire and after that it is accessible via several minor roads. Fishguard is a port that offers transport to Ireland and the cities of Swansea and Cardiff are only a couple of hours drive away.

The scenery that envelopes Pembrokeshire is a major reason for its popularity with tourism and the coastal regions are dotted with tremendous towns that are buzzing with tourist activity during the seasonal months.
